Kirby & Dawn's Wedding Fundraiser in Memory of Shane and Cole
Dawn lost her only child, Shane, to CDH in 1999.
Kirby lost his only child, Cole, to stillbirth in 2008.
After years of loss and grief, happiness found us when we found each other and to celebrate our new life together, we are asking our family and friends to forego wedding gifts and to instead help us to give the hope of life to thousands of other children by donating in memory of our boys to CDH International.
About CDH International:
CDH International's mission is to find the cause, prevention, and best treatments of the birth defect, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), through research and awareness.
CDH affects 1600 babies every year in the U.S. and occurs when the diaphragm fails to fully form, allowing abdominal cavities to enter the chest cavity and preventing lung growth. 50% of babies born with CDH do not survive. The cause is unknown.
CDH International is a 5-star, Presidential award winning charity helping over 7000 CDH families in 84 countries since 1995. It is the world's oldest, largest, and leading Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia charity.
Donating to CDHi:
CDH International is a 50(c)III non-profit organization in the United States and a NGO in Canda, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Donations in any of these 7 countries are tax-deductible with their respective governments.
With less than 10% overhead, the charity funds Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, manages the global CDH Patient Registry, organizes international CDH Awareness Day on April 19th every year, and supports patients worldwide through various services.
